I had an uncle who was blind. As a child I always wondered what it was like to be him, not being able to see; but to him it was normal since that's all he ever knew. One night the lights went off at my aunt's house and he helped me around the place. He knew how to walk around the edges for he memorized them and knew it like second nature.

The quake engine was like that. I was always exploring the outer fringes of what I could get with the modsouce and could 'get by' well enough. I could feel my way through the dark. Through WFA and True Combat, I learned the limits of the engine.

Enter the Fusion engine, a Q2 derivative that uses(d) rendering similar to the Quake3 engine; which tweaked and twisted makes it a bit 'better'. The lights came on. Combining it with other code I had laying around as well as a heavily morphed source, the end effect is outstanding and the performance is great; the potential to build past WF is limitless. As a bonus, the media is already in the Q3 Mod WFA folder; it's been hard coded as a WF "Game" and the download so far is under 8mb total.

This project is nowhere near complete, but how far it is would surprise you. If you'd like to contribute, i can be reached via email. There are also forums on PlanetIce under the wfamaps forums if you just want to skim, or scan through my temp directory...
